Senior Living Dining Options

One of the things that residents love most about senior living communities is having onsite dining choices. No more worries about planning meals, preparing ingredients, or cooking in front of a hot stove.

Instead, residents can visit the dining room at mealtime and choose from the menu. Maybe try one of the daily specials. Talk and laugh with neighbors and friends in a comfortable setting.Enjoy restaurant quality service and food — knowing that someone else will be doing the dishes.

Senior living menus cater to everyone

Dining services have come a long way in recent years. Today’s senior living menus offer a diversity of chef-created meals. That means elevated entrees using seasonal ingredients, inspired daily specials, delicious desserts, and year-round favorites that are always on the menu.

At Wichita Presbyterian Manor, our culinary staff serves six dining rooms. Two — The Bistro and The Landing — prepare food for our independent living residents.Recent menus have featured creative choices like Italian chopped salad, fried green tomato BLT and a brisket hoagie, along with elegant meals of grilled salmon, blackened catfish, and roasted chicken.

Our remaining four dining rooms serve assisted living, memory care, short-term rehab, and residents. These residents automatically receive three meals each day as part of their care, including any special menus per doctor’s orders.

An “always available” menu offers maximum flexibility. Menu items include soup and salad, a burger and onion rings, some soul-warming mac and cheese or biscuits and gravy, and so much more.

A dining package with good taste

Independent living residents at Wichita PresbyterianManor enjoy a Flexible Meal Points Plan. It’s a spending account for sandwiches, salads and sides at The Bistro and more formal dining at TheLanding.

The Plan makes it easy and convenient for residents to “go out to eat” for lunch and/or dinner several times each month. Each entrée or a la carte food item has a point value that is deducted from the monthly allotment. Points are reset every month and can also be used on guest meals for visitors. Any overage beyond the allotted points is totaled and charged monthly.

Flexibility is the main ingredient

In addition to The Bistro and TheLanding, independent living residents have their own kitchens for making a quick breakfast or a late-night snack. There are also plenty of restaurants surrounding WichitaPresbyterian Manor in every direction.Residents can drive out for a meal, call a ride service, or even have food delivered.

You’ll never go hungry here!
