Wichita Presbyterian Manor shares weekly COVID update 2/18/22

Two new cases of COVID-19 were detected at Wichita Presbyterian Manor this week.

Two assisted living residents tested positive for COVID-19 in testing Monday, February 14. The residents are isolated and will be cared for by designated team members following PMMA’s Emergent Infectious Disease (EID) Policy, KDHE and CDC protocols for infection control and prevention and physician’s orders.

The Sedgwick County Health Department has been notified, and we will follow their guidance. Visitation continues with infection control precautions and social distancing requirements per new Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. These cases bring our total since December 29 to 45, with 25 employees, two contractors, and 18 residents.

Wichita Presbyterian Manor will follow the PMMA® EID Policy and CDC and KDHE guidelines for when the employee may return to work and recommendations related to work practices and restrictions.

PMMA strongly encourages residents’ families, employees and residents to carefully consider obtaining a vaccine for themselves as well as their loved ones. Every person who receives the vaccine will strengthen the protection for all residents, staff and the community at-large

For more information about Wichita Presbyterian Manor’s response, go to PMMA’s (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s) website, presbyterianmanors.org/media-room.
