New stylist brings 37 years of experience to Presbyterian Manor salon

Rhonda Smith has been doing hair for the entirety of her adulthood.

“I started two weeks after I graduated from high school, and I never stopped,” she said. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

Six years ago, Rhonda and her husband moved to Wichita from Western Kansans, where they lived for 26 years.

“When we moved here, I had to start over,” she said.

Rhonda began working part time at Look Hair Studio at 13th and Tyler. She was beginning to look around for another part-time job when one of her coworkers told her about an opening at Wichita Presbyterian Manor.

“I love older people, so this worked out really well for me,” Rhonda said. “It’s just been wonderful.”

Rhonda does hair for health care, PATH and Westerly residents at the Willows Beauty Shop on Mondays and Wednesdays, but “I’m popping in other days when I have the time,” she said.
