Frequently Asked Questions

Making decisions about how — and where — you want to live often raises some important questions. That’s why we encourage you to “Just Ask.” You’ll find our staff at Wichita Presbyterian Manor eager to provide the information you need to make informed choices.

Here are six frequently asked questions about living at Wichita Presbyterian Manor:

  • Do you have garages or additional storage facilities? Storage is limited on campus, but we can direct you to convenient storage units nearby. In addition, we can provide expert assistance in downsizing. A move of this kind usually requires anticipating future needs and making some tough decisions about furnishings and possessions. In truth, you most likely spend the majority of your time in just a few rooms of your house. We can help you in planning. We’ll work with you personally to ensure the choices you make are right for you and consistent with the way you want live.
  • What levels of care do you offer? We offer three primary levels of care at Wichita Presbyterian Manor: independent living, assisted living and long-term care/skilled nursing health care. New to our campus is assisted living memory care for those who have a form of dementia including Alzheimer's disease. We also provide PATH (Post-Acute To Home) short-term rehabilitation. Respite care and adult day services are available.
  • What is included in my monthly rate? Your monthly accommodation fee or monthly fee covers a variety of costs common for all residents. These can include meals, utilities, 24-hour emergency response system, housekeeping and linen service, and interior and exterior maintenance. However, rates vary depending on your level of care, the type of accommodations you select, and a variety of other factors. We can provide you with an admissions packet that includes a detailed list of services and rates along with a helpful guide to help you compare the real cost difference between living in your own home and moving to Wichita Presbyterian Manor.
  • How do I know if my loved one needs memory care? If your loved one has a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, he or she will benefit from placement in a memory care neighborhood. Memory care neighborhoods are specifically designed to support the needs of individuals with memory loss, providing visual cues that will support your loved one in making the transition from home to a senior living community. Memory care neighborhoods also offer activities in smaller groups and individually that are designed to help a memory care resident reconnect with activities they enjoyed earlier in their lives and keep them engaged in the present through participation in those activities. If you are unsure if your loved one is ready for memory care, check out this resource from the Alzheimer's Association, Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer's Disease.
  • Do you provide transportation? Is there a charge? We provide transportation to scheduled events such as shopping excursions, day trips and performances at no cost to residents of Wichita Presbyterian Manor. Personal trips to the doctor, hair and nail appointments are subject to a fee.
  • Do you allow pets? Yes. We allow pets in the independent living residences. Pets must be 20 pounds or less. A one-time $500 pet fee is charged.
  • Are meals included in my service fees? For independent living residents, one meal a day is included in the service fee. All three meals are included in the fees for health care, assisted living, PATH and memory care.
