Experience Wichita Presbyterian Manor

As the seventh community in the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America system, Wichita Presbyterian Manor opened its doors in 1970.

It has continually expanded to meet the growing demand for quality lifestyle options for our rapidly increasing senior population.

Wichita Presbyterian Manor occupies 13 shaded acres in a quiet residential neighborhood in northwest Wichita, Kansas. We offer seniors a continuum of lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living, health care and rehabilitation.

Our residents enjoy access to all the amenities Kansas’ largest city has to offer, including one of the nation’s top zoos less than three minutes from the campus, and numerous shopping, recreational and cultural attractions just a short drive away.

Since its founding in 1949, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America has grown to become one of the nation’s top 20 largest non-profit senior living organizations serving more than 2,500 seniors in 18 Kansas and Missouri communities.

Our history

In 1970, Wichita Presbyterian Manor opened on West 13th Street. The dedication Sept. 19, 1970, was the culmination of more than two years of planning and construction. The second phase of construction was completed in 1979 and included 60 apartments. Phase three of the campus development started in April 1982 and included additional health care space and activity and recreational facilities for the independent living residents. After completion of the third phase, additional independent living apartments and a chapel were constructed on the campus.

In 2013, Wichita Presbyterian Manor embarked on a campus revitalization effort that included two phases of construction. The first phase, completed in late 2014, brought brand new health care and post-acute-to-home (PATH) neighborhoods, brand-new assisted living and, for the first time on the Wichita campus, assisted living memory care services.

The second phase, scheduled to open in late 2015, will include 90 independent living apartments and enhanced wellness opportunities to the campus. Learn more about The Westerly.

Wichita Presbyterian Manor Resident Council

Our residents play a role in shaping the lifestyle at Wichita Presbyterian Manor.

  • Our resident committee meets monthly to review the menu, pinpoint likes and dislikes, and offer suggestions for menu additions or changes for the upcoming month.
  • Our grounds-keeping committee actively monitors the campus, conducting regular walk-arounds and identifying areas in need of improvement.

Aside from formal committees, our entire resident population is invited to a once-a-month public staff meeting in which they are encouraged to discuss current issues and offer input on matters affecting our community.
